onto today’s topic: a huge pet peeve of mine 📱
i get really irritated by flaky texters. generally flaky people as well.
by this i mean people that kind of leave text threads hanging and then sporadically start a different thread days later out of their own convenience. even if texting isn’t my favourite method of communication, it’s still communication and that’s always a 2-way street. 🛣️
i don’t really understand the idea behind not replying to texts unless you’re actually busy or simply forget. letting it knowingly fester is a pet peeve of mine.
it’s pretty clear once i get peeved too LOL. the energy will simply be returned after dishing out a few chances here and there. i’m a pretty expressive person — both over text and in-person, so it’s obvious once i stop investing any unreciprocated energy. i don’t normally believe in matching people’s energies when applied in a negative way, but there comes a point where inconsistency is simply not worth putting up with anymore.
i’m not expecting replies within seconds, minutes, or even hours. what i dislike is when conversations are completely abandoned only to text a random “hi” days later. something about it rubs me the wrong way. you don’t only talk to your friends when you’re bored — you talk to them because you want to hear from them. 🤷♀️
