onto today’s topic: all-nighters 😴
i’ve never pulled an all-nighter (an early flight doesn’t count). hell, i’ve never even stayed up past 4am.
my close friends all know that i have this weird switch around midnight when i go pretty silent and just want to sleep. even if i’ve tried staying up, i physically can’t. i also refuse to down energy drinks and chug coffee which could be partly why, but the bigger reason is that i’m just simply not that interested in the first place.
i’m the type of person that would rather wake up early to get something done rather than staying up into the night. sleep dictates a huge part of my mood — one night of messed up sleep = a day of feeling disoriented. i’d take being bleary-eyed in the morning over that any day. hence why i’ve never pulled an all-nighter. not only that, no workload has ever felt serious enough to sacrifice all of my sleep. 😭
at punjabi functions (particularly wedding receptions), it’s commonplace for the event to bleed into the crack of dawn. my mood instantly switches after dinner is served at like 10pm. all i can think is, “when are we going home so i can sleep…” fortunately, i am indeed cut from the same cloth as my parents and they always tap out by midnight LOL.
all-nighters are a no from me. 😬
