onto today’s topic: am i excited for school? 🏫

the most common question i‘ve gotten since coming home has been “are you excited for school?”

gap years are assumed to kill any desire for education and college, and while that is true for some, this year has only served to fuel my excitement for starting college.

finishing ib in high school was a lot of school, exams and concrete walls — i wasn’t really exhausted, but more-so fed up. 😐️ traveling, exploring the world, and soaking in hundreds of different life experiences has revitalized my soul, just like i predicted it would. an intentional break makes for excitement in what’s to come, even if it is something “stressful” like college.

i didn’t dive into this year without a plan. there were things i wanted to do, and goals to accomplish: internships, summiting kilimanjaro, solo backpacking, etc. i found an excitement for life, which has translated to an overall increase in my happiness. i feel it in my bones. every day is a great day.

i am excited for school. (:

there are so many people to meet, learning to be done, and structure to relish in once again. i’m actually looking to following some foundational structure, even if passively, as i work on my own projects while simultaneously securing a degree or two. 🎓️

also, it’s college! school sports, the spirit, amazing weather at unc, and the cliché college vibes. it’s something i’ll only ever experience once, of course i should look forward to it.
