onto today’s topic: an idea isn’t much 😬

until execution.

this is mostly a note to myself, but i thought some of you could also benefit from my self-lecture.

i love coming up with new ideas and thinking through the intricacies of a business model all in my head. soon enough, the idea morphs into a full-fledged project in my brain, thinking of possible designs, distribution, new features and marketing.

in reality, it doesn’t amount to anything until i actually put the idea in motion. even for huge ceos where it seems like all their job entails is coming up with new ideas, they put it into motion by mobilizing teams and communicating the plan. it doesn’t just stay in their head. 🧠

even if i’m not the most skilled coder in the world, and probably can’t build such complex software without a long learning curve process (inevitably, making me lose interest because that’s not what i enjoy doing in the first place), what’s stopping me from finding a technical partner? or contracting parts of the project out?

absolutely nothing.

i have this weird mental block where i believe that if i don’t do everything myself from scratch, the idea is no longer mine. that isn’t true at all — most ideas were built by partners, teams and communities weaved with support.

my notion page filled with ideas means nothing if i don’t put any action towards it. 🏃 if i don’t test the ideas with actual users, they’re just wishful moonshots.

that being said, if you’re more of a technical nerd that enjoys coding projects, i’d love to bounce ideas back and forth. maybe get a fun project going together. :) just reply to this email!
