autumn without a jacket

onto today’s topic: autumn without a jacket 🍂
this year was the first time in my entire life that i didn’t need to wear a winter coat on halloween. i grew up with my costume always hidden under layers upon layers and braving the chance of a cold the next week. yet, it’s nearing the end of november and i’m still wearing my summer wardrobe outside. 🤨
as much as the weather is good for my mental health and outfit game, it certainly isn’t a good sign for our earth. by now, my home in canada would have withstood a snowfall or two, but we might actually experience our first christmas without snow.
i did somewhat predict this while packing for college because chapel hill is significantly warmer than toronto, but i wasn’t expecting for the few warm clothes i did decide to bring to be completely untouched up until now. 👔
the climate crisis is real, and thinking otherwise is ignorant of the clear evidence in front of us every single day. it’s frustrating just watching this problem grow increasingly severe by the week.
when was the last time you spent autumn without a jacket?
