onto todayā€™s topic: being in a home šŸ ļø

i just spent the weekend charlotte at my friendsā€™, katarina and philipā€™s, home and despite having a horrific cough at the moment, i feel so rejuvenated.

being in college buildings for the past 3 months, i forgot how healing it is to be around parental figures and the comfort of an actual house with a backyard, and the city a short walk away. šŸ™ļø university buildings just really donā€™t radiate warmth even if youā€™re around your friends ā€” itā€™s a lovely feeling to be welcomed with open arms into someoneā€™s home.

thereā€™s comfort in knowing what cabinets to open for plates and pans, looking up at the posters you grew up putting around your room, and walking down the street to a coffee shop where the owner knows you by name. the permanence of a home, even when itā€™s not physical, evokes a deep sense of security and contentment. thereā€™s always a place, or people, for you to return to and thatā€™s beautiful. šŸ’“

a home is lively with love, and i was reminded of that feeling over the weekend.
