my hot takes on breakfast

onto today’s topic: my hot takes on breakfast 🥣
today we were out of avocados, and i was devastated because pretty much all of my breakfast options revolve around them. its been on my mind all day so that’s why today’s post is about breakfast!
1. you’re supposed to brush your teeth before breakfast
i don’t even know how this is a controversial topic. i cannot eat or drink anything after waking up if i don’t brush my teeth first.
2. cereal before milk
i pour my cereal correctly: before the milk. the other way is just awkward. you’re just throwing cereal onto milk and hoping it doesn’t spill. when cereal goes first, you can measure your portions easier and let the cereal soak up the milk. cereal isn’t supposed to float on milk .. it’s supposed to be in it. 😬
3. waffles are pretty mediocre
EXCEPT costco’s sugar belgian waffles — those are delicious. maybe it’s because i’m biased towards anything my mom makes (pancakes!), but waffles have just never impressed me. i only enjoy waffles if the strawberries, syrup or whipped cream are good, so do i really like the waffles or just the toppings? pancakes, on the other hand, reign supreme. especially apple cinnamon ones.
4. breakfast is a NECESSITY.
obviously, there are a bunch of health benefits, which i won’t bore you with, but eating breakfast is so satisfying. i’m not saying to eat a feast, but even having a bowl of fruit is energizing. 🍓 i feel productive when i cut up some fruit or slap together a grilled cheese sandwich, and afterwards i have the energy to actually do some work. it’s a win-win. this is your sign to convert to eating breakfast!
5. i eat nachos for breakfast sometimes ..
hear me out. my breakfast nachos are completely different from actual nachos. chips, cheese, veggies, and homemade guac for dip? it’s basically just a breakfast wrap, with the tortilla being baked to make chips.
i always have to start my day with breakfast (after brushing my teeth). i feel refreshed, productive and even my creativity is challenged when the avocados or cheese are finished. 🧀
