climbodoro
like pomodoro technique, with a twist 🧗♀️

onto today’s topic: climbodoro 🧗♀️
rock climbing is huge here in the bay, and i didn’t realize it until i saw its frequency after moving. the most i’ve ever done is climbing up rock walls with a harness at amusement parks or treetop trekking courses. 😭 nothing consistent enough to be called a hobby.
those few times i did do some rock climbing though, i enjoyed it thoroughly. fortunately for me, there’s an amazing rock climbing gym a 5 minute walk from my place. you already know what i did: membership immediately secured, and i signed up for a beginners class.
it’s so rewarding to make it to the top of a “puzzle” as they’re called at the gym. even better, the community is extremely supportive and non-judgemental.
even if i completely busted my lip after falling from the top without a harness, i was having a great time. i need to exercise my upper body more after all.
okay, but what the hell does this post’s title mean?
there’s this fun twist on the pomodoro technique that i’ve learned is pretty popular amongst my friends. instead of taking a 5-10 minute break in-between half hour working session, you climb! hence, climbodoro. ⌛️
i’ve tried it once so far, and it was a blast. i felt mentally, physically and intellectually exercised. i’m going to go for another round today as well!
i think i’m going to tweak the pomodoro timings a little bit, because resetting my brain every time i continue working is jarring. i’ll do sprints of 45 minutes work and 15 minutes climbing.
do you pomodoro of any kind?
