onto todayās topic: a compliment a day š
who doesnāt like being complimented? nobody.
i was looking back at my complimenting-tendencies and realized i'm pretty sparse when it comes to dishing out compliments.
receiving a compliment literally makes my whole day, and i want to be more active about doing the same for others. iām going to genuinely compliment someone every day for november, and from then on. š£ļø
i'm always mentally complimenting someoneās style, smile, discipline, talent, and so much more ā the challenge is vocalizing it, not coming up with something nice to say in the first place. if iām complimenting just for the sake of filling my daily quota, itās so superficial and defeats the entire purpose.
itās hard to turn silent appreciation to something more vocal and public. thereās the ambiguity of the other personās response, timing and tons of other factors to overthink on. šµ
the key is not thinking about any of that. just a simple, āhey, i think your style is so cool,ā smile and walk away will do.
what if theyāre creeped out? well, thatās why you keep the interaction short and sweet. itās not creepy if itās clear you donāt have ulterior intentions.
if the in-person bit is still too scary, just shoot someone a sweet text. :)
iām going to challenge myself this month to compliment someone in-person every day. my only intention is to brighten someoneās day even just a little. š¤ļø
