do challenging things

it's more than fun 🧗‍♀️

onto today’s topic: do challenging things 🧗‍♀️

challenging yourself is more than fun — it belongs in its own category.

that feeling beyond fun is why i enjoyed hiking kilimanjaro so much. it was rough, but i relished in the overwhelming satisfaction i got from conquering it. going to the gym for the first few days was hard (after refusing to for years), but the dopamine hit i get from working my muscles until failure is a feeling i can’t sell to you unless you experience it yourself. 💪

doing challenging things keeps your mind and body in a constant state of growth. being comfortable in all aspects of life stunts that growth.

refusing to use any power-ups while finishing super mario brought my fun while playing the game over to the next level. there was literally no need to challenge myself, but that made it all the more satisfying.

we all inherently know this too, but we only apply this principle to trivial aspects of our life. i bet you’ve leaped up stairs, climbing 2 at a time for no reason aside from the fact that it’s challenging. think about why you do that. once you apply this mentality to the forefront of your health and personal life, the opportunities to grow exponentially increase tremendously. 📈

don’t just develop a website with html and css because it’s easier. challenge yourself to learn react and create something dynamic. it’ll be harder, no doubt, but you’ll feel 10x more satisfied and will end up enjoying the process when you see the beautiful representation of your growth by the end of it.

keep doing hard things. you’re capable of so much.
