“do you have any questions for us?”
make sure you do! 🤨

onto today’s topic: “do you have any questions for us?” 🤨
never say “no, not really!”
i have a love-hate relationship with interviews. i’m the type of person that likes cracking jokes and showcasing my actual personality in interviews rather than doing the formal small-talk. 💬
sometimes, my style is compatible with the interviewer and other times it’s not. but if there’s one thing that always works, it’s having well-thought out questions ready for when they ask “do you have any questions for us?”
there has only been one interview in my life where i wasn’t asked if i had any questions and i was extremely surprised. it’s pretty much a given for questions to be a dedicated section of any first-round interview.
try linking a few, if not most, of your questions to your interviewer personally. ask them about their favourite part of the role, their day-to-day or the projects they work on. tell them you’re looking forward to sharing these experiences and lead that on to ask about their expectations of your work in this role. asking these questions is also like telling a story — one of genuine interest and evidence that you did some degree of research. 🔎
don’t roll up to an interview without any questions prepared, that’s the one thing you should have ready if nothing else!
