onto today’s topic: don’t be afraid to pivot 🕹️

if you’re not interested in what you’ve set out to work on for the next couple of years, drop it. if you find that medicine doesn’t excite you, go explore another field. if you realize working in business doesn’t fulfill your creative desires, take time to explore that interest.

from the world’s greatest physicists to painters, they knew what they wanted to work on because they found an area they have an aptitude and excitement for. finding that niche for yourself is only possible with exploration across everything that fascinates you. it’s these interdisciplinary connections that often inspire beautiful artwork or revolutionary scientific discovery. 🔬

if you’re not confident about what you’re pursuing, indulge in a minor pivot. i’m not saying to switch majors entirely or quit your job — take a bunch of classes unrelated to your current path, read up on a different industry, or reach out to cool people working in an area of interest.

industries aren’t people, you don’t owe them loyalty. 🤷‍♀️ it’s okay to switch up on them and chase your excitement. you can only start building up a knack for something if you give it a shot. if you have zero clue what you’re good at or what interests you, just guess and work from there.

overthinking different possibilities and the unknown is pointless. take action and make the unfamiliar, familiar. once you’re familiar, you’ll know enough to make a good decision about pivoting or not.
