onto today’s topic: introducing figma 🎨
taking a step away from early stage startups, one of my favourite products to use is figma — literal design paradise. i first started using figma in 10th grade and haven’t gone back since.
briefly, it’s a b2b and b2c platform built for teams to design, prototype, and gather feedback in real time. designers and non-designers can dive into projects, making it easy to iterate faster and get feedback on the spot. the all-in-one approach (from wire framing to animated prototypes) streamlines the creative process and cuts down on the back-and-forth that tends to slow things down in design workflows.
let’s talk numbers! 🤓
the creative software market, valued at around $11.67 billion in 2025, is expected to grow at a cagr of approximately 10.4%, reaching $19.12 billion by 2030 (source 1 & 2) with figma being a top competitor as they hold a significant share of ~77% in the collaborative design market (est. 2021). figma has reportedly reduced project timelines by as much as 30%, since teams no longer have to wait on file updates and can focus on iterating faster.
questions i’d be interested to ask:
how do the product strike a balance between assisting expert designers vs. nurturing beginners?
are there any projects in the pipeline to enable seamless frontend dev and use generative ai to spin up code for figma designs?
that’s figma!
