fruit drought has ended

locked back into my health 🍓

onto today’s topic: fruit drought has ended 🍓

until yesterday, i didn’t realize i hadn’t eaten an actual fruit by itself for a week. it was devastating. back home, i would eat 5-6 servings of fruit per day because it would always be so easily available.

now, i have to actually go out and buy fruit. 😭

this fruit drought for a week really showed me just how much i need fruit: not just for the nourishment, but also to feel good about myself. i have no problem with vegetables; they’re easily incorporated into my meals. fruit, on the other hand, can’t really substitute a meal on its own so i have to make an active, conscious effort to eat them.

this literally sounds like such a first-world problem, but i do really have to take charge of my own health and be intentional if i want to lead a sustainable lifestyle.

just eating an entire bowl of fruit this morning felt way more rejuvenating than the caprese sandwich i’ve been splurging on every day for breakfast. honestly, that sandwich is also pretty healthy, but it’s the fact that i was able to finally deviate and check off most of my nutrition boxes. 🧘‍♀️

i love fruit. i need to start eating more again. i’m super on the ball about eating full meals and even cooking, but i let fruit slip past my fingers. the other day i literally had to set a reminder to eat fruit so i wouldn’t forget. luckily, there was a fresh, beautiful apple sitting on the office counter. it was like a fateful revelation.

my goal this week it to eat at least 2 servings of fruit per day.

wish me luck. 🤲
