least favourite part of the day

leaving my cozy bed is hard. 🛌

onto today’s topic: least favourite part of the day 🛌

i have absolutely no problem sticking to a schedule throughout the day. whether it’s grinding out a 3 hour work block, waking up at 6am, or going to bed at 11pm sharp, it’s easy for me to do.

getting out of bed is a whole other story though. 😵‍💫 for some reason i always procrastinate getting out of bed after i wake up. this morning chunk is when i’m most susceptible to doom scrolling on tiktok or getting sucked into a book for hours.

i’ll find reasons to stay in bed and tell myself that i can crunch 3 hours worth of work into 1, no biggie.

well, it is a biggie. my mornings set the trajectory for my day & i need them to stay on schedule. i typically allow myself an hour of just laying in bed reading before i get up and get ready for the day. but, then comes the procrastination and that 1 hour turns into 3.

i find it so difficult to stay disciplined for getting up. i’m slowly getting better: now i only extend my stay in bed for ~30 mins, but it’s still procrastination nonetheless.

getting out of bed is my least favourite part of the day, because i’m just not good at doing it. i mess up my schedule and the work i wanted to get done when i delay it, so it ruins the flow of my day. 💔

one strategy that i’ve been using that has worked really well so far has been scheduling important meetings for the hour after i wake up, so i’m literally forced to get ready and out of bed.

but, i don’t have enough meetings to do that everyday. so, any tips on how i can get better at getting out of bed?

cool finds of the day 🔍️
