onto today’s topic: art of gift-giving 🎁

me personally? i absolutely adore giving thoughtful gifts, and it fills my heart to receive something with care put into it.

the art of gift-giving is quite simple honestly: what shows that you care?

even if someone has a wishlist, it doesn’t hurt to spend a few minutes writing a heartfelt note or putting together a spotify playlist. those memories stay forever — the material items not so much.

i get so much joy when someone’s face lights up while opening a gift from me. this gift-giving love language has been present (no pun intended) since i was a little kid. from cutting out “happy birthday” bubble letters and placing them down the stairs in kindergarten for my mom’s birthday, to dishing up a homemade card for each occasion (even halloween 😭), i always felt pride in making someone happy with a gift.

i love the thought of someone having a collection of trinkets and items that remind them of me, and how much they’re loved.

effort is a key ingredient to the art of gift-giving.

it might just be me, but my memory of warmth and love is very strongly attached to any gift i receive. you feel good when someone remembers your interests, passions and just you in general, right? well, it shows pretty clearly in a gift. 💝

gifts, no matter how big or small, are so meaningful. they’re a token of appreciation, celebration, and love — it’s important to genuinely show this care if you’re committing to giving a gift. gifts reflect your care for a person, so of course effort, thought, and meaning should shine through.
