onto today’s topic: have values, and hold them strongly 🔒️

perhaps a hot take, but you don’t have to compromise on everything.

i believe it’s extremely important to have values you hold strongly. loosely held beliefs sometimes aren’t beliefs at all, but rather a reflection of the social consensus or safety net. don’t compromise your values to fit in quicker — the right people take a while to find, but when you find them, it’s perfect. 🤞

i’m not saying you should be unwavering about every little thing, but pick 3 values you will stay true to. holding these values strongly for yourself doesn’t mean you’ll judge others for not sharing the same beliefs. a difference of values doesn’t necessarily even mean you won’t get along swimmingly. your values are for you to hold.

i think it’s admirable when someone chooses their own values, as long as it doesn’t hurt another person. 3 points that you don’t waver can make up the core of your character and serve to root you in your identity. 🪴

it’s perfectly fine to be exploring and not necessarily know what those 3 roots are, but it’s extremely grounding to have those in place.

3 values i hold very strongly: choosing growth, full control over my body & service.

it’s hard to articulate my values into concise phrases but these basically imply that every new endeavour i pick up is for the sake of growing, i don’t consume or do anything that takes away control over my body, and i do my absolute best to share any wealth of knowledge of opportunity i have the privilege of receiving. :)
