onto todayâs topic: have values, and hold them strongly đď¸
perhaps a hot take, but you donât have to compromise on everything.
i believe itâs extremely important to have values you hold strongly. loosely held beliefs sometimes arenât beliefs at all, but rather a reflection of the social consensus or safety net. donât compromise your values to fit in quicker â the right people take a while to find, but when you find them, itâs perfect. đ¤
iâm not saying you should be unwavering about every little thing, but pick 3 values you will stay true to. holding these values strongly for yourself doesnât mean youâll judge others for not sharing the same beliefs. a difference of values doesnât necessarily even mean you wonât get along swimmingly. your values are for you to hold.
i think itâs admirable when someone chooses their own values, as long as it doesnât hurt another person. 3 points that you donât waver can make up the core of your character and serve to root you in your identity. đŞ´
itâs perfectly fine to be exploring and not necessarily know what those 3 roots are, but itâs extremely grounding to have those in place.
3 values i hold very strongly: choosing growth, full control over my body & service.
itâs hard to articulate my values into concise phrases but these basically imply that every new endeavour i pick up is for the sake of growing, i donât consume or do anything that takes away control over my body, and i do my absolute best to share any wealth of knowledge of opportunity i have the privilege of receiving. :)
