onto today’s topic: hydration while traveling 🚰
i was doing a mental tally yesterday on how much water i’ve been drinking while traveling, and the amount, or lack thereof, is concerning. 😭
most of my liquid intake comes from lemonade and drinks and cafés … which i should probably fix. in korea, i was at least drinking 1L a day (still not good) because it was safe to just fill my water bottle up with tap water. in thailand, however, its not the same. i have to go out and buy water, which is a chore. realistically speaking, it’s not hard to pop into a 7eleven and drop 10 baht (30 cents) on a bottle of water, but i get wrapped up in the adventures of the day that i don’t even think about water. 💧
while i’m on the go as well, water is a burden to carry. a full 1L water bottle + other things i’m carrying eventually has its strain on my shoulder. i think the strategy has to be buying a full case of water bottles and keeping them by my bed so i feel compelled to drink it, and don’t have to keep making water trips to the convenience store.
lemonade and iced drinks can’t keep being my primary source of hydration, especially in such a hot country like thailand. 😬 2 more days in bangkok, let’s see if i can get back to at least 2L a day.
