onto today’s topic: i love live music 🎷
your friend is up on stage with mic and guitar in hand. the lights are dimmed. you’re standing in the audience huddled up with your friends and swaying, admittedly, a little off-beat. a grin itches at the sound of “i brought my digi,” and you all cheer at the vocalist’s crazy riff.
what are the vibes, if not perfect?
i’m a huge fan of live music of any sort — smaller shows, huge concerts, well-done live sound mixing, and even karaoke. without a doubt, music is the best uniter between people. no words need to be spoken to connect with someone over music, and that’s beautiful. 💝
last night, a few friends and i hit up a special show in light of rivalry week (shoutout davie circle band), and it reminded me of how much i enjoy the unique vibe of a small music venue. i’ve been to my fair share of concerts, but there’s a special charm to more intimate events. now that i’m thinking about it, my favourite concerts have also been the smaller ones where i can actually get pretty close to the stage and dance.
i want to make an effort to go to more live music gigs. unc actually has monday jazz nights, so i might start freeing up my schedule to hang out there. 😋
