onto today’s topic: i love the earth 🌎️

today my geology class and i hiked a trail in yosemite national park. with each stop, we learned more and more about how the rocks formed, why different valleys are shaped the way they are, and the significance of different colours and minerals i would have otherwise overlooked.

there’s so much history and reasoning behind each little speck of earth’s nature, and by day 2 of this 9-day trip i’ve already developed a deeper appreciation and love for how intentional nature is. 🌿

even our human biology is so complex. it’s kind of unbelievable to think that the earth’s natural evolution is so much smarter than us — an entirely autonomous, genius, system. it’s like our lifelong teacher. we’re always trying to figure out the problems it gives us and thinking of ways to surpass it. that can be both good and bad, but that’s a topic for another time.

i probably said, “i love the earth,” like 10 different times today because i was consistently left in awe by the layers of beauty aged 10s of millions of years old stacked up on each other. 🧱

i’m not even into rocks like that, but awareness unlocks appreciation. (:
