onto today’s topic: i’m a breakfast advocate 🍓

i can’t skip breakfast or i’ll crash out. the dining hall choices for breakfast are disappointing so i’ve resorted to dishing up breakfast in my dorm every morning.

i’m honestly not a fan of eating breakfast for dessert. 😭 sure, pancakes/waffles/french toast is yummy once in a while, but every single day? i can’t stomach it personally. maybe that’s just my indian background exposing itself since i’m accustomed to eating savoury paratha and dahi every other morning, and some combination of eggs and avocado on other days.

unfortunately, i don’t have the luxury of cooking my favourite breakfast meals from home in my dorm. i tried to skip breakfast during my first month at college last semester and that didn’t end well for my mood at all — a banana or apple wasn’t enough either. if anything, lunch is more of a skippable meal than breakfast. 🤷‍♀️ i probably also think that because i’m also used to eating heavier breakfasts and lighter lunches, whereas the western standard is the opposite.

my current easy breakfast fixes:

  • yogurt bowls with granola, hemp seeds & some sort of fruit

  • mango or strawberry/banana smoothies

i really want to start making guacamole or do something with avocado, but it’s too high effort for the facilities i have. 💔 i used to eat a whole avocado a day at home so i’m feeling pretty deprived.
