onto today’s topic: interior design bug 🛋️

growing up, i had a huge interest in interior design which only grew when we moved to the other side of town with a fresh slate for decoration. by then, i had (finally) developed consciousness and i was a key opinion in a lot of the design choices for my family’s home. 🏠️ of course, i took pride in putting my room together all by myself as a middle schooler, and surprisingly enough, i am still in love with my room. if that isn’t enough of a testament for younger me’s eye for interior, i don’t know what is.

i actually submitted a collage of my interior design projects as a part of my portfolio when applying to the iovine and young academy at usc during college application season 2 years ago.

my whole family has always been similarly invested as well — our evenings during my childhood were spent watching property brothers and other house-flipping shows where we’d offer up unsolicited criticism for different design choices. we also had a phase where we would go to random open houses and stagings over the weekends just for fun. 😭

safe to say, we have an interior design bug. homesense visits are a must when my mom and i are together.
