jet lag is my biggest hater
drowsy days 😴

onto today’s topic: jet lag is my biggest hater 😴
it has been half a week since i got home, and i’m still sleepy all day. i feel disoriented and it’s hard for me to focus on any intensive work.
i mean, i did go through a major timezone change, especially after being in japanese-time (±2 hours) for nearly 4 months, but it has never been this bad. i didn’t experience any jetlag when arriving in tanzania — that could have also just been due to me being caught up in the adrenaline of hiking mount kilimanjaro. ⛰️
i wanted to use this week to get caught up on newsletters, emails and projects asap but haven’t been able to do much. the need to nap is too great for me to handle.
it’ll probably pass in a few more days, i know, but i’m impatient. i literally go out and rollerblade to wake myself up in the afternoons if i feel myself getting drowsy. i don’t think it has anything to do with my nutrition or general fatigue either, it’s just jet lag completely screwing me over.
this goes beyond my sleep schedule shifting around to weird hours (the sf → toronto shift was especially prominent). i’m tired all the time. it doesn’t matter if i was passed out the whole day, i’ll fall asleep perfectly fine that night as well. then, of course, i’ll wake up tired. 😭
any solutions?
