onto today’s topic: living with ambiguity 🌪️
last night, a few friends and i played we’re not really strangers until 3am (we had to be up at 6am later) and a somewhat common thread in many of our conversations was answering the question of “what do i want to do in life?”
that’s a big question. 😵💫
and, we all probably ask ourselves this on a weekly, if not daily, basis.
the reality is, we will be living with ambiguity until the day we die. that’s just the truth. tomorrow is never promised no matter how much planning you do. that’s not to say planning is entirely useless — i’m just emphasizing that it’s crucial to become comfortable with blank areas where our paths aren’t concrete.
sometimes those trails are desire paths, or beaten roads.
maybe it’s a jungle we have to hack through from scratch. 🌲
whether it feels like a maze, a forest, or a straight-shoot highway, what you want to do in life or what you believe you should do will always be a question mark and that’s completely fine.
the beautiful thing about humans is that we’re so much more adaptable than we think. embracing living with ambiguity refines that trait even further. 💎
it’s completely fine not to know exactly what you want to do with your life. honestly, it’s even fine if you have zero clue in that regard. the only concrete thing in life is the present and as we live in it increasingly wholly, the future becomes less daunting because the past futures have been joyfully fulfilled. ;)
