onto today’s topic: my appetite for spontaneity 🪂
my idea of an exciting day is an adventure without a planned ending. i am a very spontaneous person despite having a daily agenda on my notion and time-blocked google calendar. how does that even work?
well, my spontaneity is enabled by my flexibility. even if i have a precise schedule for the day, if the adventure is enticing enough, i’m more than willing to shift things around to ensure i’m still meeting my goals. 🗓️
i have a huge appetite for spontaneity, and feeding it has made my life so much more exciting and serendipitous. i’ve connected with people at deeper levels, made priceless memories and have amassed so many “wow, wtf did i just do” moments.
i love going with the flow in social environments. the best way to have fun is to let a group’s energy lead the way. ⚡️ obviously, there should be some sort of starting point, but when i hear, “hey, anyone want to go skydiving in 2 hours?” i know right away that an amazing day is ahead of me.
it may seem like you’d need to compromise on staying focused on your goals in order to be spontaneous, but i don’t believe that’s true at all. random opportunities popping up often lead to more promising results than something you had planned for weeks. my biggest turning points in my life for the past 2 years have been the result of my spontaneity — jolts in your life are exactly what you need for creative inspiration, new ideas and meaningful bonds. 🧗♀️
consistency and planning definitely make progress, but spicing it up can turn your linearity into an exponential curve. ;)
