onto today’s topic: my favourite class is the most random 🪨
my course load is pretty math heavy this semester, which is to be expected since i’m going to double major in computer science and business. despite this, my favourite course has nothing to do with either of those majors.
i feel like that tends to be the case for most people since there aren’t really any expectations for it.
i’m required to take an “honours seminar” and a few upperclassmen told me that the geology one was the most fun. 🗺️ they were definitely right — not only is the class super open-ended and discussion based, but we also get to go on a week-long trip to yosemite national park in california.
i’m so excited. i’ve been meaning to hit up yosemite for so long. you guys know i have a newfound obsession with hiking now so this will be an absolute blast.
we asked our professor if there’s a curriculum or outline for this course, and he simply responded with, “it’s whatever you want to learn.” that sounds like bs, doesn’t it? well, he was being completely serious.
in our small class size of 20, our questions lead the discussion for the day and map out the lessons for the next class. even our final exam is a poster presentation based on our own geological research. 🔍️ it’s my exact cup of tea and i look forward to the professor’s jokes every tuesday and thursday.
