onto today’s topic: my favourite memories have relics 🫖

i’m a memory hoarder — photos on my phone aren’t enough.

every card, ribbon or polaroid i’ve received growing up, i’ve kept in my memory box. 📦️ it feels different holding a memory between your fingers. it’s real and the warmth of it just flows easier.

my favourite memories always have relics associated with them. whether it’s a boarding pass to copenhagen or a conference lanyard, i make it a point to keep a physical part of the experience safely stored in my box.

every few months i open up the box and i’m hit with a wave of gratitude each time. 🌊

i’m sitting in my childhood bedroom right now, itching to unpack all of the memories from my 3 months in sf. i’ve brought quite a few relics with me, and of course a pin to clip onto my tote bag amongst the dozens others already on it. unpacking the stickers, buildspace hoodies, cds, and other knickknacks will help me solidify all of the memories i’ve made and turn them into a longer written reflection on my experience that i’ll publish soon (look forward to that!).

living in the moment is freeing, but those memories are also so precious. they’re what you look back on and say, “wow, i lived.” 🎐

these relics are my proof of living and experiencing all the great things life has to offer. they’re my stories. :)
