onto today’s topic: aliens are real, and it’s fungus 👽

buildspace irl was a TIME. my reflection on the actual event comes tomorrow — today is a collection of fun and interesting conversations i had over the past 3 days.

liz gave me a speech on her hot take: aliens are real, and those aliens are fungus which controls our brains. i was actually sold by the end of it. fungus can actually turn ants into zombieswhat if it can do the same to us? another point that struck me was the fact that most of our dopamine receptors are actually in our gut. guess what else is in our gut…? exactly. btw if that information is incorrect, flame liz, not me. ❤️

aren told me about his two storytelling rules to growing a platform from 2k to 170k in 2 months. relatability and authenticity is key — people generally want to follow along with people that understand them. that’s how you provide value to an audience. nobody is going to genuinely connect with a fake persona. along the same line, it’s important to keep viewers engaged. there should always be a point that builds intrigue and interest for the next piece of content. that’s how continuous engagement and a growing follower count manifests itself.

bronson told me that without bouncing and rocking, there’s no hiphop. i learned some basic hiphop dance moves, but more importantly, i felt inspired by his relentless passion to create music and entertain through dance and performing. i found myself getting infected by his positive energy and ability to create a vibe so easily. 🕺

these three conversations are only a taste of how much i learned and widened my perspective over the past weekend. there was something magical about having content creators, artists, educators and developers in the same space and building towards their passions. building is transferable across every craft, not just the arts or stem. there’s so much to learn and soak in from anyone.

the energy and drive to reach higher was so dense.

i loved it so much.

i’m excited for s5, and you should sign up too. :)
