is it actually derived from passion? 💭

onto today’s topic: thoughts on passion projects 💭

i think they’re great, when done well.

a trend i often see with passion projects is a lack of tangibility. while raising awareness through social media campaigns can be valuable, there’s little impact when there isn’t a call to action. just taking it one step forward and organizing a fundraiser makes the passion project 100x more credible, impactful, and real.

i also feel that if that passion project is something you’re genuinely passionate about, you’d probably want to keep doing more and reaching more people, rather than staying stagnant.

it’s kind of that season where those different passion projects pop up on instagram, so this topic came to mind. i firmly believe more people should pursue passion projects, but they should actually be derived from passion rather than obligation. 🫡

passion projects aren’t an ingredient to college admissions or strong resume — it shows when there’s grit and determination poured into a project. also, even if the passion project exists to check off a box, impact is what people really care about.

my thoughts on passion projects? in short, do them well and with purpose.

fyi — i know this update was extremely late (but it’s still before the day ends in pst). i went skydiving. more on it tomorrow. ;)
