sf is so cluttered

you really have to stay intentional 😵‍💫

onto today’s topic: sf is so cluttered 😵‍💫

and i don’t mean with garbage (although there is a fair share of that as well 😭).

there is so much to do, and so much always going on in sf. to be honest, that’s also part of sf’s charm, but it becomes increasingly important for me to prioritize and be intentional when filling up my schedule.

every evening theres dozens of networking events happening and even more happy hour nights. my first instinct was to pack my schedule with back to back events, and i followed through with that instinct not knowing that what i put into these events is proportional to when i get out of them.

if i don’t have the energy or interest in the event, i’m not going to get much value out of it. there’s no point attending each and every event in the sf herd.

it’s okay to set my own pace for the week. 🗓️

i think this is exactly where a lot of people “get sucked into the sf hustle culture.” if that’s your jam, go for it.

i’m glad i’ve caught myself early on so i don’t drain myself without making tangible progress in my work and personal projects. i deeply value having a balance between deep work and socialization.

the number of posts someone makes on linkedin about events they attended isn’t proportionate to how much value they’re getting. it’s easy to get swept away with the surface-level outputs online in sf, but real value comes from how well you delegate your inputs: energy, time & curiosity. ;)
