onto today’s topic: show up 🔦 

the simplest way to show someone you love them is to show up. actions really do speak louder than words, and showing up for your loved ones’ concerts, birthdays, and times in need is more important than anything you could ever say.

i remember always looking at the crowd during my elementary school performances or award ceremonies and beaming at the sight of my parents with their phones out recording. 📱 the same was true for my younger sister, and later my younger brother too.

showing up is what builds community. we’ve forgotten that sometimes relationships do require showing up even when it might be inconvenient to you. it’s a joy to put in effort to make others feel loved.

you can’t expect for others to show up for you if you leave them hanging. i get it, we’re all busy people, but my biggest regret in life would be if i never made time for the people i love. you could have billions of dollars and still be plagued with regret — show up for others even when it’s hard.

we all want to be seen and supported, no matter how small the feat. that little kid looking out at the crowd never really leaves us. 💓
