onto today’s topic: solace ❤️‍🩹

healthcare systems aren’t really built with people in mind, but profits instead.

solace, a healthtech startup founded in 2022, aims to change that by making people-driven personalization at the core of healthcare. the platform connects patients with professional healthcare advocates to help them navigate the complexities of the medical system. these advocates assist with tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, clarifying treatment plans, and resolving billing issues. by providing personalized support, solace strives to improve patient outcomes and enhance the overall healthcare experience.

initially offering services on a cash-pay basis, solace expanded its accessibility in early 2024 when medicare began covering patient advocacy services. the company is now in-network with all major Medicare Advantage plans and is working towards securing coverage with commercial insurance providers.

let’s talk numbers! 🤓

the healthcare consumer advocacy market, in which solace operates, is expected to grow at a cagr of 6.6% from $ 3.5 billion in 2023 to $6.7 billion by 2030 (source).

specifics on solace’s revenue aren’t publicly available, but as of march 2025, the company reported a revenue run rate of $10 million (source). further, solace raised $60 million in a series b funding round led by menlo ventures, with participation from signalfire and existing investors such as inspired capital this month (source).

questions i’d be interested to ask:

  • how do you maintain trust between patients and advocates?

  • what is the onboarding process like for users in terms of providing medical data?
