onto todayās topic: take on everything, and then cut down šŖ
before i ever start over-thinking āwill i even get in?ā or āwould it be feasible for me to do this?ā i just apply to anything that interests me. whether thatās a club, fellowship or any sort of gig, iāll put my foot through the door and give myself a shot.
my philosophy is to apply to everything and then weigh my options once i actually have them in front of me. š thereās no point in cutting out options if they arenāt even confirmed. once theyāre solidly laid out in front of you, cut down and take on experiences youāre actually excited about, and those that are feasible for you.
donāt stop yourself from applying because you think you wonāt be available. i say apply anyways and see if your schedule shifts. it would suck to have that commitment that you didnāt apply to a fellowship for be rescheduled and then you regret letting that opportunity go. why cut your losses before you even secure the win? š¤Ø
rake in all of your possible offers and then give yourself the luxury of picking and choosing. in reality, the opportunity cost of applying for something you feel doubtful about is likely an extra hour of your life spent on the application. thatās not a horrible price to pay for the possibility of an amazing opportunity.
