onto today’s topic: temptation to cut corners ✂️

just how far can i rationalize making my work easier by “making use of my resources?”

llms have introduced a significant ease and efficiency in workflows — sometimes frighteningly so. the scary part is that sometimes i forgo bothering to actually learn something, and instead just rely on ai entirely to write code or derive insights. 😵‍💫

the line i’ve drawn is to reevaluate when i realize that i’m replacing my learning with ai. this is an especially difficult distinction to abide by since the gpt-enabled speed of checking off to-do’s is tempting to a fault.

if you don’t understand something and take gpt’s answer at face value without prompting it for an explanation, you’ve placed too much reliance on a tool meant to accelerate human intelligence (not replace it). 🤖

i have cut corners with programming for months and my lack of knowledge is finally catching up to me — it has been a good wake up call. it’s fine to seek answers from llms, but i implore you to also understand it all.
