onto today’s topic: yapping is a good thing 🦜
it might come as a shock but part of being a good conversationalist is actually being able to talk. crazy, right?
“yapping” has been brought up a lot recently. it essentially implies someone is rambling on about a topic until it gets annoying, however the term is being used for basically any degree of speaking at this point. 😭 telling a story about something isn’t yapping — you’re literally just making conversation and that’s a great thing.
yap all you want, it’s a testament to your skill in articulating your thoughts and actually sustaining conversations with others. think about it, no yapping = silence and a dry conversation full of small-talk.
i want to hear all about why you pour the milk in before cereal, your favourite teacher in school, a recent trip … tell me everything and spare no details. if someone is genuinely interested in having a conversation with you, they aren’t going to get annoyed at you talking to them. of course they aren’t. 🤨
i love yapping. the use of the term recently is extremely confused with simply being a good conversationalist and the ability to hold a discussion so i think we should just consider it with a positive connotation now.
embrace your inner yapper and tell your stories.
