be obsessed or be average

maybe a negative trait is just an opportunity 🔑

onto today’s topic: be obsessed or be average 🔑

saw this tweet today and i thought, “real.”

obviously, it doesn’t apply to all cases: ex. love alcohol? become a raging alcoholic. 😍 🔥

😭.

i think a lot of us dismiss our whims as minuscule or irrelevant, but i think each passing thought, idea and obsession has potential. either to become something big or to become a point of growth and learning.

it’s something, and you should let yourself become obsessed.

maybe your negative trait is listening to music 24/7 (guilty 😬). instead of trying to mitigate this habit, why not start making tiktoks documenting your favourite songs of the day? or code a webapp that summarizes your spotify listening activity for the day?

use things you’re already obsessed with as leverage. don’t succumb to average.

we try so hard to be creative about a new approach or idea to disrupt technology, content, or whatever field we’re entering. what we don’t realize is that our daily lives and interests, our personalities and character, hold so much potential to rise to being exceptional. our identities are what make each of us unique, so find that obsession and ride the wave completely. 🌊

average is falling into industry standards and practices. it’s pursuing a conventional path. there’s nothing wrong with being average, but if you don’t want to be, you have to be obsessed.

passively making progress and following linearity won’t do it. utter obsession will instill in you a drive that will bring you to being exceptional naturally.

enjoy thrifting and want to pursue fashion? get obsessed. film fitcheck videos or critique current trends or develop an app that generates outfit recommendations ;).

you bring so much value to the world. get obsessed with yourself, your passions and your interests.
