onto today’s topic: i intentionally pack last minute 🛩️

i’m going on a week-long trip to yosemite national park with my geology class to do field research. we’re leaving at 2am, and i have no plan to pack until later tonight.

this isn’t procrastination (i swear), it’s fully intentional. i’d like to think i’m a pretty efficient packer, especially given that i’ve been traveling out of a 50 litre osprey backpack for ~11 months. my natural inclination is to pack pretty lightly so i rarely ever run into weight or sizing problems. i don’t really find myself ever thinking “what if” and then packing an entire bag of random medication. 😭 kudos to you if you do that though.

sure, i’ll ensure i have everything i need for the trip beforehand, but i won’t actually fit everything into a suitcase or backpack until the night before. as long as there’s nothing in my “to-buy list” for a trip, we’re good to go.

i do this so i don’t have to continuously rummage and rearrange things like toiletries or my electronic devices. once my stuff is packed, i like it to stay that way until i reach my destination.

repacking things is annoying to me and i like to minimize it as much as possible — packing late is my solution. 😋
