why spotify solos
sorry apple music 🎧️

onto today’s topic: why spotify solos 🎧️
i’m not trying to end this age-old debate, but there’s a clear winner for my personal use of music streaming services. ultimately it’s all dependent on what factors you enjoy/value the most out of a streaming app, and spotify checks off all those boxes better than apple music does.
i’ll just dive into 3 big points why:
1) social connectivity 🧑🤝🧑
i’ve mentioned before that music is one of the easiest ways to connect with others. spotify easily beats apple music on its social features. i love the blend feature, the ability to make collaborative playlists, stalking my friends’ listening activity, and even discovering other users’ playlists.
spotify makes music social and that’s something i really love.
2) finding new music 🔍️
honestly i’d say one of my hobbies is literally going down rabbit holes of new artists on spotify. it’s so easy to find new music that i like on spotify — the algorithm just gets me (mostly). the automatic radio that plays after a new song and “discover weekly” playlists are my holy grail for discovering new artists and songs.
although i’m not particularly talented at making music myself, i have a huge appreciation for it. my playlists are coloured with artists from all sorts of genres with audiences big and small because spotify makes it easy to do so.
3) user experience 📲
you guys already know i’m a major ux nerd, and spotify’s interface is much easier for me to navigate than apple music’s. i’m not just saying this because i’m emotionally attached to spotify too .. i’ve given apple music an unbiased test-run, and it wasn’t as equally intuitive of an experience.
that’s my rationale, what’s your preferred music streaming service?
