onto todayās topic: my meal strategy š½ļø
i love eating, but going to the dining hall is so time consuming (and expensive???).
as we know, i have a pretty high bar for food. fortunately, the dining hall hasnāt been as bad as i expected it to be. you canāt go wrong with a pokĆ© or burrito bowl, can you?
i have 160 meal swipes on my plan with the option of adding more meals whenever i need it. itās around ~$13/meal which is kind of insane on its own ā¦ thereās no need for the food to be that expensive, so iāve made it my mission to get every dollarās worth out of my meals. š°ļø
hereās the strat.
i need to eat something for breakfast, so i normally pick up an apple or banana during dinner from the night before and eat it on the way to the gym. my breakfast needs to be perfect or nothing, and the dining hall isnāt serving perfection at 7am so i tend to opt for my free fruit. š
after 1-2 classes in the morning/afternoon (around noon), i will get a loaded lunch which always includes a hard boiled egg, salad, burrito bowl / pokĆ© bowl, and other interchangeable dishes that my heart is set on. i eat until iām full.
my dinners have tended to be pretty unpredictable (thereās seems to always be some sort of free dinner event or outing), but the fallback plan is to eat another fat meal around 7pm. the options for dinner arenāt as good for some reason which is why i donāt yet have a set formula for the meal.
iāve also intentionally stopped myself from trying all the food in the dining hall since itās buffet style LOL. the biggest negative feedback i had heard from upperclassmen was that they got sick of the food really quickly. this is my preventative measure, and my hyper fixation habit is pretty compatible with it. š
